Valentines Day Heart Bunting

I've never really done any V-Day decor... so last year I decided to make some fun heart bunting.

It's different from my normal triangular or scalloped bunting, so I made a new template. (All my "templates/patterns" are made out of magazine covers.)

I also wanted a heart on some of the hanging portions, so I made a heart template too.

I chose some awesome pinks, whites, reds and even a yellow fabric... and started cutting.

Then I sewed the hearts on some of the pieces.

Then sewed the actual pieces inside out, then ironed them.

And here's how the pieces turned out:
I wanted to hang it on something different, so I threaded some twine through it. Here's the finished product:

Yarn Ball Garland

PJ of Planned in Pencil  spiced up her craft space with something kind of different: Yarn Ball Garland
I had to see this for myself.

I love it! Those colors are great. Perfect primaries plus white. Hung nicely on a vacant frame. She says she wants to make one for her Christmas tree next year, in holiday colors. Please share when you do!

Thanks for the garland goodness, PJ!

Pom Pom Nursery Bunting

Here's some adorable Nursery Bunting from Susi at A Mrs. & A Mama. I'm in love with the pom poms and little hearts, aren't you? She made it for her granddaughter's woodland themed nursery. What a lucky little girl! BONUS: she gives a little tutorial on her blog. :) Check it out!

Dip Dyed Fabric Garland - Uncommon Designs

I don't normally like working with tie-dye, but after reading this tutorial for a dip-dyed fabric garland and seeing the end product, I'm a little in love.

Trish and Bonnie at Uncommon Designs opened up a Tulip tie-dye kit, and using a gauzy white scarf, dip dyed it in blue to create an ombre look.

To create the actual garland, here's what they used:

A few ties and snips later, and oila!
Doesn't it look great? I know you want to make one. Or just steal this one, since it's so perfect. :)
For the full tutorial, see Uncommon Design's post here.

Thanks for letting me feature it, Trish and Bonnie!
